Christmas Snickerdoodle Cookie Recipe

Deck The Halls!

If you hadn't already noticed, I LOVE Christmas. I love everything about it. Family getting together, the movies, hot chocolate, shopping, snow, skating. EVERYTHING.

This is one of my all time favorite Christmas cookie recipes that I have perfected over the years. The beauty of it is that if you change the colour of the sugar you roll the cookies in, you can bake them for anything!

Ingredients Needed To Make it Look Like Christmas In Your Kitchen:
- 2 3/4 Cups of Flour
- 2 Tspns of Baking Powder
- 1/2 Tspn of Salt
- 1 Cup of Margarine
- 1 1/2 Cups of White Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- Coloured Sugar (See Below For Tutorial)

* Preheat oven to 350 degrees!*

Gently mix together flour, powder and salt in its own bowl and put to the side.
Place butter and sugar in a large bowl together and mix with a hand mixer until fluffy.
Mix in eggs.
Reduce Speed on hand mixer and gradually add the dry mixture to the wet.
Mix until well combined.

Roll cookie dough into little balls with your hands trying to make them all as even as possible. After cookie is in ball form, gently roll top of ball in the colored sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
Bake for about 12 to 15 minutes.

How To Make Coloured Sugar:
- Place about 1/2 cup of white sugar into a ziploc bag to start. Add a few drops of the food coloring of your choice into the baggie. Seal the zipper and shake well until the color has spread through out all the sugar. Adding more food coloring will make the sugar darker. Be careful as the sugar may stain your hands.

~ Tip ; only do one sheet at a time and put dough into fridge to stay cool while the other cookies are baking. If the dough gets too warm from sitting out the cookies will spread way too much and will be thin and dry.

So Festive!
